Bishop Auckland Town Quiz
Bishop Auckland Town Hall is delighted to play host to Bishop Auckland Civic Society’s 11th Annual General Knowledge Quiz.Wednesday 3rd December 7.30pm prompt! Doors open 6.45pm
Teams of up to 6 players are invited to pit their wits against question master Glynn Wales.
This year all proceeds from the Quiz and Grand Raffle will go to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS). The GNASSS operates three helicopters, and it is their aim to provide the people of the north with the best quality care available to them. The Service receives no government or lottery funding. It costs approximately £1.2m per annum to operate ONE helicopter.
Bishop Auckland College
50 Years of LearningMonday 27th October - Saturday 6th December
In January 2008, the new Bishop Auckland College on Woodhouse Lane was formally opened by HRH Princes Anne. This exhibiton celebrates the last 50 years, during which the College has established itself as a first class provider of further education. The exhibition is free and viewers can enter a competition to win an Ipod. On display are photographs, old prospectuses and a DVD of the College filmed in 1967.
Town Hall Centre Manager, Catherine Dawson, said “We are delighted to display this exhibition as I am sure it will be of great interest to many people in the area, whether they attended the College or not.”
