This story is about: Mr. Gum is a very old man who hates boys, girls, animals and anything like that. He also hates people who are having fun.

The part I enjoyed most was: Where you had to think of a number between 1-10 x 5 + 3 + 100 + 50 – 11 then that is his garden.

However, I did not enjoy: I enjoyed all of it

My score out of ten for this book is: 5

This story is about: It is a humorous story about an old grumpy man and a dog in a life of its own. The grumpy man had an untidy house but a beautiful garden. The dog made the garden a mess. When the gardens a mess a fairy comes with a frying pan.

The part I enjoyed most was: I like the end where it kept teasing you because they said there’s no bonus story but there was. I also liked it when Billy Wilma attacked Friday o’ Leary and Mrs. Lovely saved them with giant gob stoppers.

However, I did not enjoy: There was black smudges talking about Mr. Gum sometimes you couldn’t see the words.

My score out of ten for this book is: 8

I would recommend this book to age group: 7-10
